August 2010 Newsletter

    This month’s meeting will be held at the home of Brenda Peterson, located at 328 Maple Dr, off of Oak and Walnut St, on Tuesday the 17th at 10am. Our guest speaker Angela Cardoza will talk about "different kinds of ground cover materials".

    Thanks to P&L Nursery for their continued support of our garden club. They are always willing and happy to help. They are a great group of people to work with.

    On August 19th from 9 a.m. to12 noon, we will be touring the gardens of Rosalie Osman and Bonnie Johnson. There will be a $5 charge for the tour. A map will be handed out at the home of Rosalie Osman, located at 208 E. North St. Refreshments will be served and each home will have two master gardeners there to answer your gardening questions.

    We have a few civic beautification projects that we will be talking about at this month’s meeting. Our seasonal garden is located on 837 River Bluff Ave. Thank you to Janie Roberts for chairing this project.

    Our Welcome New Members tea will be held at the home of Mike and Karen Janich. We need members to bring a table, chairs and tea service for up to six people. If you would like to host a table, decorated any way you like, please call Brenda at 847-3907. This will be our September meeting.
